One of the great injustices was committed in the 1974 local government re-organisation. Substantial chunks of Yorkshire were given away to Cleveland, County Durham, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. The map above shows these changes. This historical deviance has been challenged by the Yorkshire Ridings Society ever since. They should be commended for their efforts.
Totally agree with you. I'm a Warwickshire Lad. They butchered my county too. As far as I am concerned both Coventry and Birmingham are still in Warwickshire despite what the pen pushers would say. Keep fighting Yorkshire 👍🏻
